These two concepts were distinguished with the "red dot design award" for exceptional design quality for their outstanding product design.

 

This seal of approval is presented on an annual basis by the Design Centre North Rhine Westphalia.

The "red dot design award" is one of the leading international design competitions. It is a hotly contested prize and is awarded by a renowned panel of international judges.

This year, 1494 entries were received from 28 different countries.
The products are documented in the German/English "Design Innovations 2003" yearbook.

The STAEDTLER triplus concept and STAEDTLER box concept impressed the jury above all by their

  • Functionality
  • Quality
  • Ergonomics
  • Ecological compatibility

The award-winning products were on display from in July 2003 at a special exhibition in the "red dot design museum" in Essen/Germany, housed in the "Zollverein" colliery, a site of world cultural heritage.
This is, in fact, the largest permanent exhibition of modern design in the world.
